Arden: Last week, we had a performance review on all the staff in our department in last quarter. Stevens, can you provide more information about the performance review?
阿顿：上周我们对部门内的所有员工进行上一季度的业绩评价。斯蒂芬斯，你能为大家提供有关这次评价的更多信息吗?
Stevens: Yes, sir. Most of us had positive review in last quarter. Take Fred and David for examples. Both of them try their best to achieve the best. Their progress is distinct, especially in last quarter.
斯蒂芬斯：好的，先生。我们当中大部分在上季度的评价都是正面的。以佛瑞德和大卫两人为例。他们两人均努力将工作做到最好。他们的.进步是敁而易见的，特别是在上个季度。
Arden: They are popular in and out of our department. Fred is easygoing, while David is cautious in working.

Stevens: All these say a lot for their characters.
斯蒂芬斯：这些都说明了他们的品格。
Arden: So, I want to recommend them for a raise. Fred is promoted to be the assistant of manager in marketing department and David to be director of office.
阿顿：所以我想推荐他们晋升一级。佛瑞德被提拔为市场部经理助理，大卫为办公室主任。

David: Do you get the news that our company is trying to find out new tactics to test us?
大卫：你听说了吗?我们公司又想出考验我们的新招了。
Fred: I know something about it. Our company often organizes all kinds of lectures to improve our professional skills.
佛瑞德：我倒是了解了一些。我们公司经常组织各种讲座以提高我们的职业技能。
David: It takes most of our weekends to listen to these boring lectures, so I can not bear it anymore. It is said that they think out some tests to check our management skills.
大卫：听这些无聊讲座都占据了我们多数周末的休息时间，我真是受不了了。据说公司要进行一些测验来检测我们管理的能力。
Fred: Is that true?
佛瑞德：是真的吗?
David: Definitely!
大卫：绝对没错!
Fred: If that information is exact, I guess our company is willing to promote someone.
佛瑞德：如果信息确切的话，我猜公司是想提拔一些人了。
